You may wonder what elderberries and legacy have in common. Let me begin by telling a little story.

2.5 years ago my wife gave birth to our second son. Shortly after he was born we all got hid hard with the flu.

We needed a safe and effective way to treat what was going on. A friend sold us some of her homemade elderberry syrup and swore by it. I kid you not, we were all better before the week was over. All four of us! Fevers gone. Energy back. I started referring to it as the "miracle juice." The best part of it was that all the ingredients were natural, organic, and God designed them to help take care of our bodies!

We were all doing so well and I heard elderberry syrup was beneficial as a preventative measure too. So I went to the local health food store to buy some more when we ran out. Holy moly! It was going to cost us $45 for a 16oz bottle. I left the store feeling discouraged and hopeless. My wife reached out to our friend who made the syrup for us initially and she encouraged us to make it ourselves. She thought to herself, "I can't do that!" She was already reading her mind and told her, "You can do this! And you can help others by selling it." Little did we know, that was the beginning of what appeared to be very small, becoming very big.

We had no idea that 10 months later, I (Mike) would be taking my attempt at a recipe everyone would love and perfecting it for packaging to sell at craft shows and farmer's markets. Now as I hand customers samples and bottles to take home with them, I have the opportunity to tell our story. I tell them "I'm so thankful my family got the flu 2.5 years ago." They look at me like I am crazy and I go on to tell them that God used that time to open our eyes to the natural goodness of elderberry. Now we use it regularly as a preventative during flu season and even in the spring to help with allergies. It is even a natural anti-inflammatory and has been known to help with arthritis and diabetes. The benefits are endless!

In the Fall of 2019 Mike's Elderberry Syrup started selling in its first store! And less than a year later we are now partnering with a dozen retail locations in the Tri-Cities. This was one of those God ideas that he told us to "Go for it" with and we are so thankful to you, our family and friends, for supporting us in the beginning when many of you thought we were crazy. Maybe we are crazy. Crazy enough to believe people deserve to have a natural, safe, and effective option to get healthy and stay healthy. Crazy enough to dream big and believe for financial freedom that allows us to be at home more with our boys and invest in LEGACY. And for you to bring wellness to your LEGACY.
